“I am absolutely delighted with your light installation – it is especially beautiful and atmospheric in the evening. My husband is also very impressed!” (G.S., collector)
When the Viennese collector G.S. saw the video about my light art, she immediately felt the desire to contact me about a commission. She had been searching for some time for a light installation that would complement her collection and simultaneously create its own distinct spatial presence. It quickly became clear that LIGHT\TRACE No. 1 was perfect for her penthouse.
The work is not only poetic and delicate, but it also appears different depending on the time of day. The transparent fibre optics are embedded between several layers of handmade straw silk, so that the lines can always be traced. The surface of the object is partially coated with genuine palladium. Depending on the viewing angle and time of day, the light installation – even when unlit – constantly creates different reflections or blends seamlessly with the wall. It is perceived as an independent material that creates atmosphere and subtly transforms the space.
Today, LIGHT\TRACE No. 1 is situated within an extraordinary art collection, entering into a direct and engaging dialogue with works by Hans Kupelwieser, Markus Prachensky, and Pablo Picasso.
The integration of the work into this environment is a particular honor for me and, at the same time, an affirmation of my artistic practice. I am especially pleased that LIGHT\TRACE No. 1 has not only become part of this collection but also part of a lived-in space where art can be experienced daily.
This is how the dialogue between light, material, architecture, and art that forms the core of my work comes about.
